City's Under 18 side have been knocked out of the FA Youth Cup.

The young Blues lost 2-1 to Preston North End at Deepdale in the third round of the competition in the Saturday lunchtime tie at Deepdale.

After a goalless first half, the hosts took the lead through Miller on 58 minutes. Dougan doubled the lead with eight minutes to go, but Ahmed Benali gave City hope when he tucked it away with seconds of normal time to go. There was drama in stoppage time when Olle rattled the crossbar for City but PNE hung on to end City's hopes in the competition for this season.
