City's Academy side bounced back from their derby defeat with a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Stoke at Platt Lane in today's FA Premier Under-18 League game.
The Boy Blues scored three in each half, with in-form John Guidetti producing a great early finish to get his side off to a fine start then adding an equally-impressive second soon after.
Jeremy Helan made a third for Harry Bunn to stick away before the break, and in the second half Ahmad Benali came into his own with a couple while Joan Angel Roman weighed in with the other.
Despite City's ascendancy in a much-improved performance, goalkeeper Loris Karius had to be alert for a superb and crucial save when Stoke threatened to get back into the game at 2-0.
Coach Scott Sellars said 'Our display was a massive improvement, and they were at it from the first whistle, which wasn't the case in the previous match. They showed real quality with good intensity and the scoreline reflects that.'
