With kick-off just three short weeks away, the fixtures for the forthcoming Barclays Premier Academy League and Barclays Under 21 League have been announced.

City under-18s and the Elite Development Squad have learned their fates as the fixtures have been released for the 2012/13 campaign.

The old regional leagues have been scrapped to make way for national divisions, meaning that City will face the likes of Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough at u21 and u18 level in the coming campaign.

The under 18s will take part in the Barclays Premier Academy League, while the under 21s will contest the new Barclays Under 21 Premier League, which have been brought in after the Elite Player Performance Plan guidelines have been introduced by the Premier League.

As far as schedules have allowed, the u21 and u18 fixtures will take place on Friday nights and Saturday mornings respectively. This has been decided to simplify logistics in travelling to and from games.

Both age-groups kick off their respective campaigns against Chelsea away from home on the weekend of the 17th-18th August, before fixtures against Middlesbrough the following weekend.

There’s expected to be closer ties than ever between Adam Sadler’s under-18s and Attilio Lombardo’s EDS, meaning that there are expected to be players from the under 18s playing up a level in either the NextGen Series or the Barclays Under 21s Premier League.

City EDS have been drawn against Fenerbahce, Paris Saint Germain and Juventus in a mouth-watering NextGen Series Group, and will kick-off at home to PSG at Hyde FC on 30 August.

City u18s will take part in the Barclays Premier Academy League and the FA Youth Cup, a trophy the club last won in 2008.
