Newcastle v City u18s: Match preview

City u18s will be looking for a second win on the bounce when they take on Newcastle United on Saturday.

Jason Wilcox’s men put six past Bristol City in a friendly last time out, with Jack Byrne grabbing a brace and Joe Nuttall finding the net in his first game back after injury.

The last league outing two weeks ago ended in a draw with rivals Manchester United, although the young Sky Blues were unlucky not to come away with all three points, a late penalty denying a deserved victory.

Since then, Brandon Barker and Ash Smith-Brown have been shining for England u18s, while Bersant Celina has been away with Norway u17s.

City will travel to the North East looking to add to a league points tally of 11, while the Toon currently have six points from their opening eight league fixtures.

Kick off is at 10.30am at Newcastle Academy (NE7 7SF).  We’ll bring you updates on twitter, and a full match report right here on mcfc.co.uk.
