u18s kick off new campaign away to Blackburn

City u18s begin the defence of their Premier League North Division title away to Blackburn Rovers.

The Blues take a trip to Lancashire on 16 August, before hosting Sunderland for the first league home game of the season a week later.

Jason Wilcox's side then welcome Everton to Platt Lane as the Mancunian outfit bid to seek revenge for the Premier League play-off final defeat at the end of last season.

The first Manchester derby of the campaign occurs on 20 September at Platt Lane with the reverse fixture taking place on 17 January at the Aon Training Complex.

The format of the competition is similar to last year, with 24 Category One Academies split into two regional leagues.

Teams will face every other team in their region twice - home and away - to determine league standings.

The second phase will be held after the end of the regular season to decide the national champions.
