US Tour: Micah's diary day four

Today I have to start with a confession! I missed the X-factor.

I was scheduled to be on the judging panel with some of the back room staff and Patrick Vieira and Shay Given but I feel asleep and no one woke me. I am blaming the coaches for the intensity of the training session earlier in the day!

Seriously though it was my fault and I have paid for it – literally – with a fine slapped on me by the lads. I apologise to the boys for missing it and I am told it was a great night.

Apparently, Chappie in his own hilarious style compared the event in his own inimitable style aided by a glamorous assistant and the judges had a hard time picking between Scott Kay, Ben Mee and John Guidetti.

There was even a sing off which was close with Guidetti taking the prize – and no he didn’t sing an Abba song.

On the way back from training we visited the Nike staff store where some of the lads topped up on gear. It is a fantastic place and despite my reputation for like to shop, I came away empty handed on this occasion.

Game day is now coming closer which is great for everyone but before then we have an open training session at Nike HQ for the employees.

There are going to be a few hundred of them here and hopefully they will enjoy watching us. They have certainly given us a warm welcome while we have been here. They are genuinely pleased to have us here and know a lot about football. We hope to make more new friends as we go and I promise not to sleep in again!

Speak to you all tomorrow.
