Dublin 2011: Goals mean points

There will be extra incentive for City to hit the target at this weekend’s Dublin Super Cup.

The Blues take on an Airtricity Irish XI and Inter Milan at the Aviva Stadium in a tournament that also features Celtic, who are sure to have the backing of much of the local support. But in addition to three points for a win and one for a draw, there will be one extra point added for each goal scored.

If two or more teams are equal on points, their rankings will be determined as follows:

  • Best goal difference.
  • Greatest number of goals scored.
  • Greatest number of shots on target.
  • Greatest number of shots on goal.
  • And if it is still equal, by a draw of lots.

Still with us? It all kicks off for City at 2pm on Saturday, and we close the tournament against Roberto Mancini's former club the following day with a start time of 4.15pm.
