Summer tour: Micah's diary day 3

It hasn’t been a good week for Sunday newspapers in England has it? I notice that one of them was claiming this weekend that I was demanding £100,000 per week before I sign a new contract at City.

That is nonsense. They don’t know what has been said, offered, or asked for, so instead they just make up a figure which makes everyone think that I am being greedy. It’s annoying but I suppose it goes with the territory these days.

Anyway, just thought I would clear that up. Back here in the USA we are into the sessions now and it has been hard work but not without its top banter.

Vincent Kompany was having a right go at me about my underarm hair at training claiming that I should be shaving my armpits.

Now don’t me wrong, I like a bit of male grooming, but you can take things a bit too far and Vincent clearly does that!

We had only one session yesterday and so a few of us took the chance to go shopping in the afternoon to Rodeo Drive.

Nigel came along and so did Joleon, Gael, Vincent, and Wrighty. I spent a few quid on T-shirts at one of the designer shops but nothing too mad.

Talking of Joleon he has come back in super fit condition. I think his great finish to the end of last season gave him real momentum to come back ready to impress from the off.

We trained at the University (LMU) for the first time today and it was another tough session. We were split into small groups - JL was in mine along with Vlady Weiss who is pretty quick, but I reckon if there was a club sprint championship I would be on the podium ... at the top!

A baseball flew over the fence and onto the grass while we were training, which was pretty apt really because Joe Hart was later pitching the first ball at the LA Dodgers game.

Joe won’t mind the attention a bit. He has been practising and a few of us will go along and support him. The great thing about Harty is that he loves life and likes sport in general, and any challenges that come his way he meets head on.

He will have got get a real buzz out of being there. The citytv boys and Sharon, the club photographer, were there to capture it all. More about that tomorrow.

See you later.
