Hello everyone. Is it really 12 months since I last did a tour diary entry? Time flies but what a year and I am still buzzing from the FA Cup win.
Just for the record I really do have to be interviewed each day by Chris Bailey for this diary and sometimes he rings at stupid o’clock ...but he’ll learn!
We have been back in training for a few days now and I am still waiting to win my first game of five-a-side.
I’m blaming Stu Taylor. I think he came back a bit heavy and couldn’t dive quickly enough ...only joking, Stuey
It was great to be back on a plane to LA because I absolutely love the place. In fact I spent a lot of the summer there.
It is a really cool place where there is not much hassle for footballers and the weather is pretty good too. We are all looking forward to the tour and getting back into action as FA Cup holders and Champions League qualifiers.
We all know we have to back those achievements up by building on them this season and it will not be easy. I expect some more new faces will come in later in the summer or even while we are away.
Gael Clichy is a really good addition to the squad. He is a really good player and I have always found him a tough opponent.
As I told people before the end of the season I am hoping to extend my stay at City and talks have begun on a new contract. But I leave that stuff to my agent - I concentrate on playing and making sure I am in that team to play Swansea in the first game of the season.
The plane journey over was really good, Etihad is a great airline and the chicken pie they served was amazing. Off for some sleep now. Training will be hard tomorrow.
See you later.
