Roberto Mancini shrugged off the torrential rain that caused Vancouver Whitecaps’ Saturday MLS match to be postponed as “being like home.”
Empire Field is in need of a dry night and day to ensure the game goes ahead but the Canadians remain confident the match will be played.
“We are from Manchester,” said Mancini. “Rain doesn’t bother us and I’m sure everything will be fine.”
City will look to bank their second pre-season tour victory against the Whitecaps after the 2-0 win over Club America on Saturday.
“We will wait on Mario and David could be fit to play, but we will wait and see how they are in the morning,” said the Blues’ boss.
We are very happy to be in Canada and we are looking forward to the game. Vancouver is a fantastic city and I’m sure there will be a very good atmosphere at the stadium.
“The team is working very hard in training and I am pleased with how things are going. We haven’t been training that long, but the performance against Club America was very encouraging.
“We will continue to build up our fitness on this tour and I’m sure Vancouver Whitecaps will provide a difficult test for us.”
