City Ladies selected for WSL in 2014!

Manchester City Ladies Football Club are delighted to announce that they have been granted entry to the FA Women's Soccer League
This news marks an exciting new era for City Ladies, who, having recently formalised their partnership with Manchester City Football Club, are looking forward to playing at the very top level of the game.

City Ladies entry in to the WSL is real evidence of this.
“The women’s game is continuing to grow at a pace with 28 million girls and women playing football worldwide, making it the most popular female participating team sport. We look forward to the continuation of that growth, and to bringing the Club closer to this global fanbase.”

The official statement from the FA issued this afternoon read:
"The adjudication process for The FA Women’s Super League from 2014 is in its final stage, with The FA today selecting 18 clubs for WSL licences.
"The process is now subject to The FA WSL project team working with clubs to finalise the terms and conditions of the agreements.
"The FA will make no further comment until this process is complete, when final confirmation will be given on all clubs that will enter FA WSL1 or FA WSL2 in 2014. This is expected to be completed in due course."
The following clubs have been selected for FA WSL1:
Arsenal Ladies, Birmingham City Ladies, Bristol Academy Women’s FC, Chelsea Ladies, Everton Ladies, Notts County Ladies FC (formerly known as Lincoln Ladies FC), Liverpool Ladies , Manchester City Ladies.
The following clubs have been selected for FA WSL2:
Aston Villa Ladies, Doncaster Rovers Belles Ladies, Durham Women's, London Bees Women's FC (Barnet FC), Millwall Lionesses FC, Oxford United Women's FC, Reading Women’s FC, Sunderland Women's FC, Watford Ladies, Yeovil Town Ladies.
