City Ladies make the lengthy trip south to Portsmouth this weekend as they look to progress into the last eight of the Premier League Cup.

Following on from progression into the Women's FA Cup 5th Round, City will be looking to put up another resolute team performance to secure a safe passage to the next round of this competition.

Pompey will be looking to get back to winning ways after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Yeovil Town. However, the blues know they will be a different proposition when they face them this Sunday.

This being the last of the 2nd Stage ties it's league action elsewhere in the National Division, as Sunderland looking to extend their lead in the table take on City's previous opponents Coventry. Both Leeds and Watford will be trying to keep in touch with the Black Cats as they face Charlton and Aston Villa respectively.

Looking ahead to the trip Leigh Wood spoke to us after training:

"After last week's performance against Coventry, we go into this weekend's game with confidence high, knowing that if we work hard for one another and show good quality on the ball we can cause teams problems at this level.

“Having already played Portsmouth this season we know we will be in for a tough game. We have set ourselves targets this season and one is to perform well in the League Cup and go further than we did last season, so we will be going there looking to win the game and progress to the quarter finals".

The match will kick off at 1pm at Havant & Waterlooville FC, Martin Road, PO9 5TH. As ever you can follow exclusive LIVE match updates on twitter @MCLFC
