An evenly fought contest on a pitch like a mudbath, with Villa coming out on top.

It didnt take long for City to take the lead, Danni Lea firing home from 15 yards for her first goal in open age football.

The pitch made it hard for City to play their passing game but they continued to try and in the end the wanting to play football cost them. Two defensive errors put Villa's forward in a one on one situation with the goalkeeper and she made no mistake on either occasion (the second came 10 minutes from full time).

Leigh Wood, First Team Manager, said: "A disappointing result today in a game where both teams cancelled each other out.  A draw looked like a fair result but a defensive error at the end cost us and gave Villa the points. We now look to bounce back in the County Cup next week."
