Manchester City Ladies preserved their 100% record after beating Rochdale 3-1 on Sunday to move seven points clear at the top of the FA Women’s Northern Premier League.
In yet another polished display at SportCity, the Blues went into the break leading 1-0 through Becky Grocott’s low drive on 26 minutes and doubled their advantage on 52 minutes when Krystal Johnson slotted home from close range.
Johnson added a third for the City – and her second – on 85 minutes against a plucky Dale whose efforts were rewarded in injury time with what proved to be no more than a consolation goal.
Manager Leigh Edwards was delighted with a performance that keeps City clear at the top of the table.
“It was a professional performance today and no more than we deserved,” said Edwards.
“We dominated large parts of the game and created a host of chances. It was a really pleasing display."
The Blues are next in action away to Curzon Ashton on December 5.
