The Manchester City Ladies first team travelled to Leicester just one week after losing at home to them in a cup game, hoping to reverse the result.
City settled quickly and 22 minutes into the game Lindsay Savage had no problem converting a penalty.
The second half saw Savage score again, this time from a great header after both Krystal Johnson and Becky Grocott had efforts disallowed.
Goalkeeper Worrall was called upon after the break and made several superb saves. An own goal made the score 2-1, and that's how it stayed, with City's overall dominance deserving a more comfortable score line.
The Ladies Reserves team also went to Leicester for their first game of the season, and a much improved second half performance saw them come away with a 3-0 win.
Going in 1-0 up at half time courtesy of a Carly Bailey finish, the Blues produced a better second half display and sealed the win through another strike from Bailey and a neat header from sub Amy Armsden.
