Beat the rain with CITC summer fun

  • 06 August 2009 10:33

Hundreds of youngsters have shrugged off the disappointing weather to enjoy free activities with City in the Community this summer.

The Community scheme has been organising a range of activities at sports centres and parks across Manchester and Tameside, including free football and multi-sport activities.

As well as traditional sports, CITC has also been giving young people the chance to take part in adventure activities such as rock climbing and mountain biking.

CITC’s Executive Manager Alex Williams said: “Fortunately, the poor weather hasn’t put off young people from taking part in activities with us, which shows both the quality of activities on offer and also the appeal of working with Manchester City has to the community.

“We are very grateful for the support of our partners such as Manchester City Council, Tameside Council, 4CT, the Premier League and the PFA which allows us to provide our activities for free.”
