Dragons' Den entrepreneur Peter Jones has given his verdict on the partnership between his National Enterprise Academy and City in the Community - an enthusiastic "I'm in!"

Peter and his TV colleagues will often turn down ideas with a reluctant "I'm out!", but he gave a keen thumbs-up on his visit to the City of Manchester Stadium.

The top businessman enjoyed the graduation ceremony of first-year students at the NEA, his brainchild aimed at encouraging and stimulating more entrepreneurial activity.

And Peter is delighted at the link with CITC, whose successful skills and enterprise programme allows young people to learn about MCFC as a business, not just a football team.

Peter said: "I'm over the moon to get a Premier League club such as Manchester City involved - I'm not just touched, I feel privileged!

"There is a link for kids between football and business, and bringing the two together shows the spirit of working together and co-operating as a team. It's inspirational.

The fact that Manchester City are involved at the heart of their community means it's a perfect partnership for us. I hope it will be long and fruitful for us both

CITC Managing Director Sarah Lynch said: "We use the model of the club to engage the youngsters and show there's more to a football club than just the guys out on the pitch.

"We are helping to give employability skills, such as how to write a CV, and our own workforce is over 90 per cent local. We want to keep that going as we expand the Club."

City will begin their new venture alongside the NEA on July 26 - 100 youngsters between 14-16 will spend five days at the club learning about MCFC as a business.
