Manchester City FC is delighted to announce the search for two brand new charity partners as part of the recently launched ‘Shoot for the Moon’ partnership with Sport Relief.
The Club is seeking motivated and enthusiastic local charities to become the East Manchester Charity of the Year and the Manchester Charity of the Year. Applications are invited from charitable and not-for-profit organisations throughout the Greater Manchester area.
Along with the long-established support offered by the club to its nominated charities, CITC Giving will also be granting awards of up to £50,000 to the winning applicants to fund a specific project or outcome for the community which they serve. The successful organisations will also benefit from a profile-raising player appearances, the donation of signed merchandise and promotional opportunities through the Club’s media channels.
The chosen projects should benefit young people and families in Manchester, through community cohesion, skills and enterprise schemes and urban sports programmes.
Fans will be invited to be part of the Shoot for the Moon fundraising efforts by hosting their own events or participating in activities arranged by the Club on behalf of their nominated charities. Led by former City midfielder Paul Lake, the Club will host a series of fundraising events and initiatives throughout the season, further details of which will be available soon.
