Brian Marwood is certain that Manchester City's proud heritage will spur the club on into a new era of success.
The former Arsenal and England winger, now the club's Football Administration Officer, has been recalling his memories of playing against the Blues during his playing days in an interview now available to view for free on MCFC.co.uk.
Brian tell us, "A lot of ex-players will tell you that Maine Road was a special place to play, it had a unique atmosphere and the pitch was always in good condition, and I can recall getting two goals at Maine Road against Paul Power.
"It was a time City were struggling a bit, I had a decent record against them at Arsenal and Wednesday, but this club has always had a great heritage. The history and the colourful characters are something people still talk fondly of, and we hope to recreate that as we go into this period of our history now. We want people in 15 or 20 years time to say that City are one of the best around."
