Umbro Playlist for Stoke

Quite a rapid turnaround on the Umbro Playlist this week, with another home game coming up fast on Boxing Day.
Roberto Mancini makes his debut as City’s boss by taking on Stoke City, in what will undoubtedly be a tough game. As it takes place in the middle of the Christmas party period, we asked you to pick your singalong party classics, a question that produced a real mixed bag of cheesy hits and rock anthems. We almost went for a collection of Kiss, Neil Young and Arcade Fire, but eventually decided on the trio of tunes picked out by Kady Elliott:
Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen
Daydream Believer by The Monkees
Rockafella Skank by Fatboy Slim
Three songs we’re sure everyone knows the words to, so you’ve no excuses for not singing along! Congratulations to Kady, who wins two tickets to the game, and the chance to hear her tunes being blasted out around the City Of Manchester stadium.
That’s all the Umbro Playlists for 2009, but we’ll be back in the New Year for the big one – the Carling Cup semi-final against United. The theme for that match is going to hark back to City’s League Cup triumph in 1976 – we want you to pick three classic songs from the Seventies that can help to create a cracking atmosphere – it can be anything from the decade of Colin Bell, David Bowie and ridiculous flares. Get thinking and get your ideas up here for a chance to win tickets to this massive game.
