Cup Final day also saw fierce competition for the Thomas Cook Fans Trophy on the pitch at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Thomas Cook sponsored the 7-a-side competition to mark the end of their highly successful six year association with the club. Seven fans' teams were selected at random from hundreds of entries to compete alongside a media team. The lucky winners were: Paul Howard, Phil Hume, Paul Mahoney, Paul Atherton, Paul Keogh, Steve Charnock and Scott Elliott.
It was a fantastic day that culminated in Paul Keogh’s team being victorious, and having the opportunity to play against a former players' team that included Peter Barnes and Kenny Clements.
After the event, a buffet and drinks was enjoyed by all in the Mancunian Suite, with the opportunity to watch the FA Cup Final.
Danny Talbot, Managing Director at Thomas Cook Sport, said: “To football fans, getting to play on your team's pitch is the ultimate dream. Our six years as official sponsor of Manchester City have been a memorable journey, and sponsoring the tournament was our way of saying a final 'thank you' to the fans for all their support.”
Congratulations to Paul and his team once again!
