City midfielder Adam Clayton has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract extension.
The 20-year-old Youth Academy graduate has been with the club since he was seven, and his new deal comes at the end of a season where has impressed the coaching staff enough to make it onto the bench twice.
Although not called into action yet, Adam says he can already see the difference training with and against City's better-known players has made to him.
"From playing with your mates at school to training with Robinho cannot get any better. It's a dream come true, and especially for a City fan like me.
"It's such a great experience playing against and training with these kinds of players. Someone like Didi Hamann is great to learn from in my position, he's been in World Cup and Champions League finals and you cannot beat that kind of experience."
Nevertheless, the local lad will not be resting on his laurels as he looks to make the step up to a place in the first team.
"Everything has changed", he adds, "I've gone from being a kid to making a career for myself, now I have to produce the goods. Now there are three points on a weekend at stake, so you have to get out there and do it. If you put the hard work in, you will get rewarded and that's what happened for me."
