Evan experiences chance of a lifetime

  • 23 April 2010 16:25

This week, Etihad Airways and Manchester City teamed up with the Manchester Evening News to offer one child the chance of being the official Manchester City mascot at the Derby on Saturday.

The winner was Evan Green, who won the chance of a lifetime; he got to walk out with the City team before the game.

Evan is a happy little 10 year old who fell poorly with meningitis septicaemia when he was 4 years old.  He overcame this illness and despite losing both his legs and his arm continues to astound everyone with his love and enthusiasm for life and his football team, Manchester City.

Evan and his dad Dale had a memorable day at the Derby, as they experienced a stadium tour before the game and he got to meet his favourite player, Carlos Tevez, as he walked off the team bus.  They then got to cheer on City from the hospitality box.

I’d like to thank everyone involved for giving my son Evan this special opportunity, the smile on his face said it all.
