Here are all the facts and figures you need to know ahead of tonight’s game…
Georgios Samaras was the last City player to score at home to Everton during a 2-1 win in January 2007 – it is 288 minutes since the Blues last found the net at home to the Toffees – five hours if you include added time!
If City do win tonight, they will go top at Christmas for the first time since 1929!
City are three points and three places better off than at this point last season, while the visitors are just the one point better and in the same position.
Everton are bidding for their fourth successive win at the City of Manchester Stadium having triumphed on their last three visits.
City have won 45 of the 81 fixtures played against Everton at home, while the Toffees have won 18 times. In those 81 meetings, the Blues have netted 141 goals
The last 0-0 draw at City was on March 2, 1983, one of 18 occasions the teams have shared the spoils in Manchester.
Everton helped play out the highest scoring draw at City, a 4-4 draw at Maine Road on September 9, 1925.
City have only topped the Premier League on three previous occasions and all have been with just three games played
Everton’s last away win was a 2-0 triumph against Birmingham City on October 2 – their only away win this campaign.
City’s last league defeat and the Toffees’ last league win coincide on the same day. Wolverhampton Wanderers triumphed 2-1 at the Molineux, while Stoke City lost 1-0 at Goodison Park on October 30.
Roberto Mancini’s men have the joint worst total for goals scored at home this season along with Birmingham and Wigan Athletic who have also scored eight. David Moyes’ team have scored eight on the road and conceded eight.
City have won all seven of the Premier League games that Carlos Tevez has scored in.
Tim Cahill has scored three times in six appearances at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The first meeting at the City of Manchester Stadium resulted in a 5-1 win for City with Shaun Wright-Phillips rounding off the scoring on the final day of the 2003/04 season.
Everton won the first ever league game with City, a 2-1 win on December 23, 1899 at Hyde Road. Billy Meredith scored for City in his first spell at the club.
