Shay Given will be the safe pair of hands at the heart of top charity event Fashion Kicks 2010 on April 13 with a soundtrack by Westlife and dinner by top chefs Brian Turner and Paul Rankin.

City and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Given has also persuaded his Blues team-mates to model some of the Selfridges spring/summer collection at the Lancashire County Cricket Ground event.

The celebrity fashion show is just one of the highlights along with Westlife's special performance, a lavish meal and a charity auction in dedicated marquees at the Old Trafford venue. Compere is top radio dj Neil Fox.

All funds raised on the night will be distributed between Macmillan Cancer Support, the ‘Adopt a School’ project and the Beechwood Centre for Cancer Care in Stockport.

Shay, a patron of Macmillan, said: “My wife Jane and I are proud to support Fashion Kicks once again. The night promises to be an entertainment extravaganza with all those involved kindly donating their time towards a very worthy cause.”

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "As patron of such a worthy charity, Shay works tirelessly to raise not only funds, but also the profile of the Macmillan Cancer Appeal.  The Club is committed to seeing him succeed.

"I wish Shay, and all those who support Macmillan's work, the very best, for both the ‘Fashion Kicks’ night itself and for all their other wonderful fund-raising work."
