Footballing legend Patrick Vieira unveiled a brand new mini soccer league at the Platt Lane Complex earlier this week.

Patrick kicked off the first games before giving the youngsters a mini football masterclass. He was joined by Moonchester, Moonbeam and Councillor Mike Amesbury, providing new team Platt Lane City F.C. with an extra special start to their season.

The mid-week leagues are for under 6, 7 and 8’s and will be played in boys, girls and mixed teams. The focus is firmly on fun, and all abilities are welcome.

Games will take place twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and will be either indoor or outdoor depending on weather conditions.

The sessions will last one hour between 5 and 6pm at a cost of just £2.

Platt Lane City is working towards charter standard status, adhering to strict guidelines set by the FA to ensure the best standards of coaching, administration and child protection are strictly adhered to.

If you’d like your youngster(s) to join one of the sides, call a member of our team on 0161 256 6652 or email for further information.
