After the snow stopped the big match against United last week, we’ve been keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed in the hope that the match against Blackburn tonight will go ahead – and it looks like we’ve succeeded!
Because of the conditions we’ve had recently, and in anticipation of a cold night at CoMS this evening, we asked you to pick out three songs that relate to the weather – it could be something reflecting the current cold snap, or something to make us feel a lot more sunnier.
We had a great response from you all, especially considering the short time you had to get your suggestions in, with the most popular being classics such as Purple Rain, Why Does It Always Rain On Me and Mr Blue Sky. However, we picked out this trio from Marie Williamson as the best:
I’m Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage
Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles
Cold As Ice by Foreigner
Three different types of weather taken into account, and three upbeat songs to keep everyone warm before the match!
Congratulations to Marie, who wins a pair of tickets to the match tonight, and the chance to hear her songs played before kick off.
The next home match for City is the rearranged Carling Cup semi final against United next week, which we’d already picked a winner for before it was unfortunately postponed. We’ll announce the winner of that Umbro Playlist on the day of the match.
Therefore, we need a new Playlist theme for the game against Portsmouth on January 31. The south coast club have the longest journey in the league to get to Manchester, so in connection with that we want to know your top three songs that involve travel or long distance. Get your thinking caps on, and get picking those songs!
