After the events of midweek, we’re all itching to get back to league action this weekend with the game against Portsmouth.
We’re sure that the Pompey fans will be as well, once they arrive at the City of Manchester Stadium – they’ve got the furthest journey of all the visiting teams in the Premier League this season after all.
With this in mind, we asked you for to pick songs inspired by travel or long distance for this Umbro Playlist, and your response was brilliant.
It was possibly the most submissions we’ve had so far, with some people going above and beyond the call of duty by suggesting a whole album’s worth of songs.
Once again, lots of people picked out individual tracks that we liked, but in terms of a trio of tunes we could all agree on, the winner was Karl Lillis, who picked…
'I Can See For Miles' by The Who
'Drive' by The Cars
'It’s A Long Way To The Top' by AC/DC
Congratulations to Karl, who wins a pair of tickets to the match, and the chance to hear his chosen songs blasting out of the stadium.
City’s next home game arrives a week on Tuesday, when our near neighbours Bolton Wanderers come to town. As they’re local lads, we want you to pick songs about the North – not just Manchester, but any tune that’s concerned with coming from the best part of the UK. Get your ideas down for a chance to be at the match and hear your tunes bellow out at the CoMS.
