City’s two supporters clubs, the Official Supporters Club & the Centenary Supporters Association officially became one on Sunday after agreeing to unify.

Under the new title of Manchester City FC Supporters Club (1949), the new-look organisation can now boast more than 100 branches in total with a membership close to 10,000 members.

City’s Chief Executive Officer Garry Cook was delighted by the unification. He said: “The joining together of the OSC and the CSA is a fantastic step forward by all concerned and I, along with everyone at Manchester City, am delighted by this news.

I would like to thank all those concerned in making this happen and greatly look forward to continuing to build and extend the mutual benefits between club and fans as a result of this unification.

The MCFCSC (1949) will be chaired by Alan Galley and Kevin Parker will continue as General Secretary.

“This brings all the fans together as one,” said Parker. “It’s a logical move and the best way forward for everyone.”

Former CSA chairman Alex Channon will now become the new Charity Officer. He added: “The unification will make it easier for all concerned.

“Rather than deal with two separate bodies, we are now under the one umbrella of the Manchester City Supporters Club 1949. Garry Cook approached us with idea of becoming one organisation and pointed out the benefits of unifying.

“I then spoke with Kevin Parker, the club’s Danny Wilson and CITC’s Paul Lake. We all met and we quickly agreed this was the best way forward for all parties.”

City’s Head of Supporter Experience, Danny Wilson, said: “For a number of years we’ve been looking at unifying our two supporters clubs and have considered various ways of doing this.

“Over the past four months we have liaised with key representatives from both organisations, culminating with today’s inaugural meeting of the new Manchester City FC Supporters Club (1949)..

“Last year saw numerous supporters clubs enjoy player visits all with the intention of bringing the supporters clubs closer to the football club and give them a better insight into what goes on within the club.

“We as a club are excited by this and now we will sit down and discuss various ways we can help each other and increase the membership of the supporters club.”
