Ferrostaal launch search for City's dream team

Every City fan has at some stage written down or argued about their all-time Blues’ dream team.

Of course all opinions are subjective and there is no official right or wrong in these matters. Eras are almost impossible to equate and even then anyone picking an eleven would have to take into consideration tactics, conditions and the opposition.

Backed by our kind partners at Ferrostaal and undaunted by such constrictions mcfc.co.uk has decided to launch a summer search for the best ever City eleven, substitute and manager.

And to help us we called in the ‘experts’.

Former England international Andy Hinchcliffe, City legend and now Oldham manager Paul Dickov, Club Ambassador and fellow legend Mike Summerbee and player, manager, author, after-dinner speaker, lounge host and radio summariser Fred Eyre spent a morning debating the merits of various generations of players to come up with an ultimate eleven...you wouldn’t believe their biscuit consumption!

The result of all the talk (apart from expanding waist lines) was the fab four's top team.

Starting tomorrow - and for the next fourteen days - we will show you their discussions over each position in the team (4-4-2) and then ask you to guess the final line up, one sub and the manager.

The fan who gets nearest to the ‘experts’’ eleven will win, courtesy of the generosity of Ferrostaal, the use of a super luxurious hospitality box for themselves and seven friends a first team home game during the coming season (to be advised).

So please listen carefully, make notes but most important of all enjoy the chat and the debate and we will let you know how and where to send your entries towards the end of the competition.

Good luck!
