City fans and staff helped raise more than £200,000 for charity at the Fashion Kicks Charity event hosted by Jane and Shay Given.
The first ever staging of the evening in Manchester proved a phenomenal success both in number of people attending and money raised for Macmillan Cancer Support, Beech Wood Cancer Care and the Adopt a School Project.
The evening was attended by 750 guests and around £143,000 was raised on the night thanks to the generosity of sponsors and guests.
Since the event the total amount has been boosted to 212k from direct donations, which is a great endorsement of Fashion Kicks and how the evening was viewed as a top class fundraiser in the North West.
In the six years the fundraiser has been running Jane and Shay have raised more than £900,000 and have now setting their sights on smashing the £1m mark.
“It never fails to amaze Shay and I as to how generous and willing people are to help and support our events,” said Jane.
“We never imagined that in just six years we would be looking at reaching an amount of £1m. So many people have been able to receive much needed help and support due to the huge amount that has been raised.”
