Manchester City was well represented when a delegation from the England 2018 World Cup bid met Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday.
Adam Johnson, along with Fabio Capello and England team mate Michael Dawson, went to Number 10 Downing Street and he was joined by the club’s Social Inclusion Project Manager, Eddie Afekafe.
The pair were part of the group that met Mr Cameron and FIFA President Sepp Blatter in support of England’s efforts to bring the tournament back to these shores for the first time since 1966.
Eddie (pictured next to Fabio Capello) gave a short presentation on the work of City In The Community’s Kickz project and how it could provide a model for the legacy the World Cup would provide to young people and local communities.
The presentation received an enthusiastic reception from Mr Blatter, and before being whisked away back to Carrington for training Adam was complimented on his performance for England by the PM.
