Stars from music, stage and screen turned out in force on the ‘Blue Carpet’ last night for the official launch of ‘Blue Moon Rising’.
A unique film, BMR documents the Blues first full season in the ownership of Sheikh Mansour through the eyes of the fans.
Spontaneous applause greeted the end of the glittering Premiere at the Printworks that was also attended by boss Roberto Mancini, his coaches., several members of the first team squad past and present...and the mechanical star of the show Helios the people carrier!
Producer Nick London was delighted with the response to the mini-epic which took a year to reach the screen and was even longer in the planning. More than 250 hours of footage, shot on state-of-the-art cameras, was distilled into the fast-paced, emotional ninety minutes.
“This is a film seen through the eyes of a group of City fans and what it means to love a football club. Through them I am sure it is a film to which all football followers can strongly relate,” said London.
“We can’t thank City enough for the access we were given which helps makes this film so special.”
After its glitzy and successful launch in Manchester last night the film will be screened in selected cinemas in the North West in the next two weeks. Keep your eyes peeled on mcfc.co.uk for more information.
