Umbro Playlist for Blackburn

After an international break that saw plenty of City players shine for England, we¹re back into league action tomorrow with the visit of Blackburn Rovers to the City of Manchester Stadium.

The arrival of our Lancashire neighbours also sees the return of the Umbro Playlist, with plenty of you getting involved by submitting your song ideas for the chance to win tickets to the game.

The theme for this match, as we¹re still at the start of the season, was hope and looking forward. A pretty open idea, we got plenty of excellent song suggestions full of optimism for City¹s season, and as always it was a tough call to pick out a winner. After much deliberation, we were able to pick out this trio of tunes from City fan Michael Davies:

  • Queen Don¹t Stop Me Now
  • Modest Mouse Float On
  • Badly Drawn Boy All Possibilities

A nice mix of an old classic, a new classic and a top tune from a local hero and City fan, so congratulations to Michael, who wins a pair of tickets to tomorrow¹s game, plus the chance to hear his tunes blasting out at the stadium before the game.

Reckon you could do any better? Then pick some tunes for the next Umbro Playlist, which is for City¹s big game against Chelsea. The theme for this fixture, which provided us with some massive footballing moments last season, is memories. Good or bad, we want your songs that are all about looking back and remembering certain moments.

Submit your top trio of tunes on the City Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning the tickets and the chance to see your name up on the big screen at Eastlands. Good luck, and get picking those songs!
