Fan of the week: Lynn Ratcliffe (and Dougie)

There could only be one fan of the week, couldn't there? Lynn Ratcliffe's pedigree chum Dougie made sure of that when he joined in with the Poznan at Bolton.
Lynn's beloved alert dog, who goes to City matches home and away with his epileptic owner, was pictured in "action" on the club's facebook page and in a Manchester Evening News follow-up story.
"Loads of people have stopped me in Cheadle, where I've lived for ages, and Dougie has become quite famous there," says Lynn. "Even folk that I don't know recognise us, I didn't expect any of this.
"It's lovely to be named Fan of the Week, but it's had no effect on Dougie - he's asleep on his chair! I'd say that he'll get a nice treat to celebrate, but he gets lots of those anyway."
Lynn's Poznan pooch is a whippet-lurcher cross from Support Dogs and, of course, a dyed-in-the-woof Blues fan. She says: "The first time he did it was against United at Wembley.
"I think he saw everybody else doing it and felt left out. He tends to save it for the big occasions. Sometimes he'll just stay under his chair snoozing, his usual position!"
Her constant canine can tell when Lynn is about to have a seizure and alerts her: "He's changed my life and my family's. He allows me to find somewhere safe and let people know what's going on."
His sixth sense doesn't run to detecting an impending City goal: "But he does feel the excitement from me and the crowd at key times and he will react to that and come from under his chair."
Lynn and Dougie will have to miss the Tottenham trip for a family wedding, so there's no chance of ending up on the Tube to Barking. Which is as good a point as any for us to paws ...
