The cold and wet winter months have played havoc with the English game over the past few weeks. Frozen pitches up and down the country have seen an unsolicited amount of matches called off throughout the leagues.
Spare a thought then for our talented troop of City Buskers who come rain, shine, snow or blizzard don their guitars to entertain the crowds outside the City of Manchester Stadium before every league game and have been doing so for over 12 months now. We thought it was about time they were back in the limelight…
Before the visit of Wolves on Saturday, make sure you look out for this musical quartet of Blues and show them your support:
Mark is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist and tunesmith as well as being a huge City fan to boot!
Check out this YouTube video of the man in action:
Alan needs no introduction. Whether you’ve followed his appearances on local radio station XFM Manchester, seen his bid for Eurovision or caught his ukulele-fuelled ‘lo-fi charms’ at a Manchester nightspot, you know you’ve seen something special.
He has even expanded his act to include Suzanne ‘Queen of the Swanee Whistle’ Monaghan on guest vocals.
Any proceeds collected by Alan and Suzanne at Saturday’s game will to straight to the Neil Young Appeal so come on and dig deep, Blues!
You’ll also be able to catch Alan live at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester on February 11th.
Matty has been a firm fan favourite for his soaring acoustic melodies and his clever, lyrical songs. Make sure you check him out this Saturday and show your support.
A true rock and roller; Paul makes up one quarter of local band The Reveres who, we’re glad to hear, have gone from strength to strength since we last checked in with them.
The band are recording a single that is due for a March release as well as supporting the excellent Detroit Social Club at MOHO Live in Manchester on the 5th February.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to join the City Buskers, send us your tracks or links to email@example.com marking it ‘City Buskers’ and we’ll get back to you.
