CitySquare is open for business this Saturday for the Premier League clash with Wigan Athletic. It will also see the launch of City SoundWave – a head-to-head competition of local music talent who have uploaded their entry via Key 103’s official website.
Citysound was a huge success last season and provided launch pads for the Coldside Generals and Busker One who both held live sets at CitySquare last season – and they will be both appear again this weekend.
From the City SoundWave entrants, those selected will perform live on stage on 29 October and then await to see who the City fans and judges vote for with the winner getting to perform in the Key 103 Summertime Ball. You can enter at Key 103.
Live from CitySquare this weekend will have our usual eclectic mix of presenters in the form of Hugh Ferris, Fanzone Danny and Natalie Pike and there will be opportunities to win an instant upgrade to hospitality against Wigan for two people, a live David Platt interview, plus punditry, bar and bespoke cafés open and CITC family activities.
With a sell-out crowd for the visit of Wigan, the atmosphere should be crackling with Samir Nasri making his home debut and the Blues attempting to return to the top of the Premier League against Roberto Martinez’s side.
And don’t forget that for Napoli next week, we want you bring your flags, banners and inflatables to celebrate City’s first ever Champions League game.
Remember, CitySquare is the Club’s unique fan space is regarded as the best in the Premier League and has proved to be immensely popular.
The pre and post-match stop-off zone has become a huge part of the matchday experience at the Etihad Stadium and, as ever, we’ve listened to the most important people of all – our fans – to make CitySquare even better.
You wanted cheaper draught beer – so we’ve slashed 20p off a pint. You wanted different food options – so we’ve introduced a bespoke fish and chip shop and gourmet burger outlet. In fact, all our food will be served in a traditional, home cooked form, just as you wanted it.
Get along early – it’s going to be a busy day!
