It’s going to be yet another dramatic weekend in the Premier League title race – and Paddy Power have a selection of enticing bets to choose from.
Manchester United’s 1-0 victory at home to Fulham on Monday night leaves the Blues playing catch up this weekend but a win over Sunderland will catapult City back to the summit.
Cty are, of course, unbeaten at the Etihad Stadium this season, thanks in no small part to their ability to score in every game here and to keep 13 clean sheets in 15 matches.
That record came perilously close to disappearing against Chelsea until Samir Nasri's magic in the 85th minute secured a 2-1 win.
It's not hard to see why City are long odds-on at 1-4 with our betting partner Paddy Power to claim Sunderland's scalp, with the Frenchman 6/1 to score the first goal or 6/4 to score at any time in the match, with the same firm.
Even though Sunderland have been revived since Martin O'Neill's appointment last December, their away form has been patchy.
They come into this tie with four wins, three draws and eight losses on the road this season. While they've managed to average a-goal-a-game (15) on their travels, they've shipped 20 against in the process.
City's average time of scoring is 41 minutes, just shy of Sunderland's average time of conceding away, 42 minutes. Odds on the home side scoring the first goal after minute 22 is a tempting 7/5 with Paddy Power while there's an interesting 11/1 on offer if the first goal is scored by either side from the 41st minute to half-time.
Sunderland are looking to do the double over the Citizens after a 1-0 New Year's Day win when Dong-Won's controversial stoppage time goal gives them a shock result at the Stadium of Light. Dong-Won is 16/1 to get off the mark first here and 7/2 to score at any time.
Of the eight blanks the Black Cats have fired this season, six have come away from home with their biggest loss being 4-0.
Given what's at stake here for title-chasing City, a similar is priced up at 11/1, with the Irish bookmaker.
With City rock-solid at home and Sunderland looking vulnerable, there may be some value in favouring the home side in the half-time, full-time betting at 8/11.
Those who don't fancy betting odds-on could see some value in City to win both halves at 13/8. Roberto Mancini won't care though - once they win.
