City’s historic Premier League title-winning season may still be fresh in the memory but we have some key dates for the forthcoming campaign, including when next season’s fixtures are announced.
Set your reminders for 9am on Monday, 18 June when mcfc.co.uk will publish our 2012/13 Barclays Premier League fixture list. The weekend of 18/19 August is when our defence of the title kicks off, a week after we take on European champions Chelsea at Villa Park for the FA Community Shield.
All eyes will be on Monaco on Thursday, 30 August for the UEFA Champions League group stage draw, when we will discover who City will face in their next crack at Europe’s elite club competition. The opening round of games will take place in the week commencing 17 September.
Champions League football means that City’s entry into the Carling Cup will be delayed until round three of the competition, in the week after the start of the European action.
The festive period will be as busy as ever on the football front, with fixtures initially pencilled in for 22, 26 and 29 December, plus New Year’s Day – but as ever all fixtures will be subject to change after they are first released.
Next season draws to a close with the 38th and final game of the Premier League season scheduled for the weekend of 18/19 May 2013.
