Victory in Monday’s Manchester Derby sees City sit atop the table by the thinnest of margins. With two games to go there is no counting of chickens going on at the Etihad Stadium.

Next up is of course a tricky trip to the Sports Direct Arena to take on Newcastle the scene of great celebrations last time the Blues were champions of England 44 years ago.

The Magpies have been one of the surprises of the season and after a great win at Chelsea in midweek remain in the fight for a top four finish.

Up to last weekend’s 4-0 defeat away to Wigan, Newcastle had won their previous six league games in-a-row and had kept clean sheets in five of those six wins.

Despite that impressive run our betting partner Paddy Power has priced City up as the odds-on  4/7 favourites to win the game and move a step closer to glory.

City are unbeaten in the last outings against Newcastle - winning eight.  The last victory came at the Etihad Stadium back in November. Mario Balotelli and Sergio Aguero both scored from the spot in this 3-1 win. A penalty to be scored in this game is 11/4.

Sergio Aguero remains the man in form with five goals in his last four games and he tops the betting at 4/1 to score first and evens to score anytime. His compatriot Carlos Tevez is the 9/2 second favourite to score first.

After scoring the crucial winner on Monday some may be tempted to back skipper Vincent Kompany at 25/1 to score first and 10/1 to score anytime.
City -1 goal is priced at 8/5, or if Blues fans are feeling especially confident you can get City -2 goals at 4/1 with Paddy Power.

Anyone who believes in omens and history repeating itself can back Mancini’s men to win 4-3 at 175/1.
