City Soccer and UAE Embassy's brand new facilities at Haas Park, Chicago are officially open for business.

US Midwest City supporters, local kids, and all soccer fans alike now have a place they can call home.

More than 550 youngsters have already signed up for the new City Soccer in the Community coaching programmes which will take place at the new pitch

The complex was built in record time of just three weeks, with incredible support from the City of Chicago, Chicago Parks district and the local community. It will become the soccer hub for three local schools catering for in excess 1,500 pupils.

On the morning of the event, Club Ambassador Mike Summerbee and the City Soccer in the Community visited the three schools with the Premier League trophy and children had the opportunity to get a picture with the silverware and a City poster. The kids were then invited to attend the opening.

An estimated 1,200 people were at the official opening, a number which included local teachers, police and community leaders.

The Chicago City supporters club was also present and performed a rousing rendition of Blue Moon to mark the occasion!

We'll bring you a video of this momentous day for the club and the UAE Embassy on mcfc.co.uk very soon.
