Suarez nominated for Rising Star award

City and Spain’s Denis Suarez has been shortlisted for the 2012 Northwest Football Awards’ Rising Star accolade.
The award recognises the achievements and potential of some of the region’s most talented young footballers.
Suarez has been the stand-out player in Attilio Lombardo’s EDS side so far in this season and has bagged three goals this campaign.
He was also a member of the Spain U19 squad which won this summer’s 2012 European Championship.
Denis will go up against a host of young talent including Blackpool’s Thomas Ince and Apostolos Vellios of Everton.

Those submitting their vote also have the opportunity to enter a competition for the chance to win a pair of tickets to the Northwest Football Awards.
The closing date for fans’ votes is 5pm on Monday 29 October.
The awards ceremony will take place on Monday 12 November at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s ‘The Point’ and will be presented by BBC Sport’s Dan Walker.
