The best odds from Paddy Power ahead of City's top-of-the-table clash against the Gunners...
Ending the 23 game unbeaten run of the defending European champions on their own turf is the perfect preparation for the visit of the Barclays Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Manuel Pelligrini’s side can pull within two points of Arsenal with a win in Saturday’s early live game. With a perfect seven wins from seven games at the Etihad Stadium in the league this season it’s no surprise to see City as the odds on 5/6 favourites.
With 31 goals scored in those seven home games City fans are enjoying an average of over 4 goals per game. This statistic should push you to back the over selection in total goal market where over 2.5 goals is 8/13.
However there have been a large number of low-scoring games between these two side in recent years. Only one of their last eight meetings has produced more than two goals. If you want to be safe then give yourself that extra cushion and back under 3.5 goals at 4/9.
City have won five and drawn three of their last ten games against Arsenal. They also kept six clean sheets in those ten games, four of which were City victories.
Having conceded just two goals at home in the league so far this season City look a good bet at 15/8 to keep a clean sheet. You can also back them to win to nil at 5/2.
Three of the last five meetings between these sides have ended 1-0.
City to win 1-0 pays out at 15/2. If you throw in top goalscorer Sergio Aguero to score first the scorecast double pays out at 25/1.
Aguero has scored in ten of his last twelve games and has a winning goal against Arsenal in a 1-0 Carling Cup win back in Novermber 2011.
The Argentine is 4/1 to score first and 10/11 to score anytime.
At a longer price James Milner might be worth a look. The wideman scored against Arsenal at the Emirates last season and having scored the winner against Bayern Munich he might be worth a cheeky punt at 16/1 to score last and 11/2 to score anytime.
At those prices you won’t need to lump on to turn a tidy profit.
