All the best odds from Paddy Power ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash...
After two successful away games, Manuel Pellegrini’s side return to the Etihad Stadium as they move into the final stretch of their Premier League title challenge. Eight wins from eight will secure a second crown in three seasons but the manager won’t be looking beyond this weekend’s home game against Southampton.
City to win
The Saints have impressed under Manuel Pochettino this season and proved their quality in holding Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at St Mary’s Stadium back in December. They also possess a solid away record, winning six, losing six and drawing four and conceding just one more than they’ve scored. However they have suffered three of those defeats in their last four away games and they may struggle to contain an in-form City side at the Etihad Stadium. Both Arsenal and Chelsea beat Southampton by at least two goals when they hosted the Saints. With Manchester City odds-on in the match betting at 1/3, there’s value to be had on backing them -1 goal at 5/6.
Correct Score Markets
Southampton have only scored more than one away goal in the Premier League on four occasions, three of which came against the teams currently occupying the relegation zone. Their main aim will likely be to prevent City from scoring, which is a difficult task against a side with 48 goals in 16 home games - a perfect average of three goals per game. If City maintain that average, they can be backed at 11/10 to score three or more goals in this encounter. If they do, having conceded just nine league goals at the Etihad Stadium this season, then Manchester City -2 goals at 23/10 could look a good bet.
Edin Dzeko has scored in two of his last three appearances against Southampton and, with three goals in his last three games for City, is 7/2 to score first and 8/11 to score anytime. He's definitely one to look at in the goalscorer markets.
As is Yaya Toure who continues to extend his record scoring season with 17 Premier League goals. The midfielder can be backed at 9/2 to score first and evens to score anytime.
