City Square will have its usual eclectic mix of competitions, sporting and musical entertainment ahead of Sunday’s clash with Spurs.
Stars of both the big and small screen, the British tennis scene and two of our very own EDS players form the special guest line-up for those who arrive early at the Etihad Stadium.
Actor Thomas Turgoose will be chatting to our presenting team before kick off. He grew up on our screens playing Shaun Field in Shane Meadows acclaimed film and TV series “This Is England”.
Away from acting he’s a big football fan and will be giving his thoughts ahead of the match.
Ciaran Griffiths completes the acting line up. A Manchester native, he is best known for playing Mickey Maguire in the BAFTA winning drama series, Shameless, and Gary Best in ITV’s multi award-winning series, The Bill.
He too will be sharing his pre-match predictions and will also be telling us what’s next in his own career.
Stockport tennis star Naomi Broady has enjoyed an excellent start to 2016, beating former world number one Ana Ivanovic in New Zealand and getting her first tournament win of the year under her belt in Michigan.
Her impressive form has seen her break into the world’s top 100 and she’ll be sharing the secrets of her success. A life-long City fan she’ll also be discussing the Blues' form this year and how they might fare in all four competitions.
Ahead of next week’s U21 derby at the Academy Stadium, two of our EDS players will be in City Square to discuss the big game.
With the forthcoming UEFA Youth League draw, their European Campaign will also resume shortly and the Group D winning youngsters will be previewing the knock out stage of the competition.
On the most romantic day of the year, love is of course in the air at City Square as we have our own version of the popular 90s show, Blind Date.
Four unsuspecting Blues will take to the stage and answer questions to win a date with the successful couple receiving a date for two in our Legends restaurant.
Supporters have a second chance to win prizes by taking part in the latest football craze that’s sweeping the country, Footgolf.
This hybrid sport combines the best of football and golf and if you’ve got the power and precision to get the ball in the hole, you can win big on Sunday.
We’ll be supporting Football V Homophobia this weekend and the Canal Street Blues will be in the Square demonstrating their Footgolf talents before their half time competition against Spurs’ Lily Whites.
Manchester Camerata will provide this week’s musical offering. The only professional orchestra to carry the City’s name, they are one of Europe’s leading chamber orchestras and their strings section will be performing music from their sold out Hacienda Classical events at the Bridgewater Hall.
If that’s not enough, we’ve also go all your usual pre-match favourites, including EA tournaments and giveaways.
With so much on offer, you won't want to miss out - so make a visit to City Square part of Sunday’s matchday experience!
