Share your footballing highlights from 1966 and they could form part of a new exhibition at the National Football Museum in Manchester, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of England’s World Cup win.

There is no doubt about it- 1966 is the most iconic year in English football. England’s only major tournament victory, it remains an unforgettable moment for many football fans across the country.

In recognition of this, the National Football Museum have teamed up with both The Football Association and the Heritage Lottery Fund to launch the Memories of ’66 Project.

As part of the project, fans are being asked to share their most memorable moments, photographs and any special memorabilia they may have from that momentous year.

They will be displayed at the special exhibition, which will open on 25 June in Manchester and at Wembley in time for the 50th anniversary of the tournament in July.

These memories will be collected in partnership with the Sporting Memories Network, a charity that works nationally with older people to bring about health and well-being benefits through the celebration of their greatest sporting memories.

If you were there in 1966 and would like to make a contribution to the project please send in your best memories by 3 April to: Memoriesof66@nationalfootballmuseum.com.

Or, tweet @FootballMuseum using the hashtag #memoriesof66.
