A world champion and a City promotion winning manager mean it’s a not-to-be-missed City Square on Wednesday night.

Ahead of the Capital One Cup semi final second leg, we’ll be warming up with a host of entertainment to get you in the mood for what promises to be an exciting night of football.

Equally admired in the blue halves of Manchester and Merseyside, Joe Royle will be joining us on stage to offer a unique insight into how both teams might approach the game.

As a player he represented both clubs with distinction before doing the same in the dugout and was the man in charge as City achieved back to back promotions from Division 2, to the Premier League.

A League Cup winner with City 1976, he knows just what the current crop of stars need to do to book their first Wembley appearance of the season.

Ensuring this week’s line-up packs a punch is WBO Lightweight World Champion, Terry Flanagan. ‘Turbo’ faces a Liverpudlian challenge of his own when he makes the third defence of his title against Derry Matthews on 13 February.

We’ll be finding out how his training camp is going ahead of the big fight and he’ll also be telling us about his great love away from the ring- Manchester City.

After all that talk of fighting, comedian Archie Kelly will be on hand to provide some light relief. The Phoenix Nights actor will be discussing his latest projects and as a big Blue will share his pre-match predictions.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men may be into the second half of their season, but for MCWFC pre-season has just started ahead of the 2016 Women’s Super League (WSL).

City stars Karen Bardsley and Daphne Corboz be joining the City Square team on stage to tell us what they got up to during their end of season break as well as letting us know how preparations for the new campaign are going.

Karen and Jill will also be helping fans win a signed MCFC shirt as they captain the teams in the City Square version of A Question of Sport.

There’s more prizes to be won thanks to City in the Community (CITC), who’re preparing for the CITC Celebration Day on 20 March. We’ll have three Nissan Juke’s on display and you could win one in the CITC raffle, so make sure you buy a ticket.

This week’s musical offering sees the highly rated indie-rockers King No-One take to the stage.

The Yorkshire four-piece have received huge praise within the music industry.

BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson said: “Ambitious young band, they just blew our socks off with their strongest single yet 'Foreign Tongue'."

You’re sure to hear more from these guys soon, but get down to City Square to see them before they embark on the upcoming UK tour.

Fusing reggae, rock, ska and punk, Jeremiah Ferrari will deliver a unique performance to the pre-match audience. Coming off the back of UK tour, they also supported UB40, The Wailers and Madness last year so are sure to keep the crowd entertained.

It’s set to be a special night at the Etihad so make sure you arrive at City Square early to join in all the fun before the semi final action gets underway.

See you tomorrow!
