As ever, it’s been an exciting week all round on the club’s official social network presences.
Despite the disappointment of the result against Spurs that unfortunately put an end to our bid to play in the Champions League next season, we were absolutely delighted with the response to our largest ‘check-in’ attempt with location-based application Foursquare.
Although we didn’t quite break the record, this was a first attempt of its kind from any sports team around the world and both MCFC and Umbro would like to thank all the fans who embraced it.
Next season, we’ll be regularly asking City fans to ‘check in’ at games with more opportunity to win great prizes and receive special MCFC Foursquare discounts.
The club’s official fan page on Facebook welcomed its 100,000th member this week and, as many of you will have noticed, we changed our profile logo to celebrate. We’d like to extend our thanks to all of our Facebook friends for making it the best place for MCFC fans on Facebook and as always, it’s the only way to find out all the behind the scenes gossip and enjoy exclusive content, such as this hilarious backstage video of the players at last night’s MCFC Awards evening. Players + fire alarms = chaos!
Speaking of the awards, the #mcfcawards hash tag on Twitter kept the MCFC Twitterati informed with all the results as they came in at the only election ceremony that mattered! Thanks to everyone who got involved.
