City’s Premier League trophy, won in such dramatic fashion just a few months ago, is to go on display in Manchester as part of the Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour.
The silverware has journeyed around the world and will now make its debut in England to celebrate the start of the 2012/13 season.
It is a free, interactive experience for football fans of all ages and will take up residence in Albert Square from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 August.
Fans will have the opportunity to explore the EPL’s history, have their photo taken with the trophy and watch a film demonstrating the passion of playing and winning the league – something Blues fans can certainly identify with!
“Tens of thousands of fans across the globe have already enjoyed the Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour,” said Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore.
“Now it’s the chance of the supporters in England to experience what is at the heart of our competition – the trophy itself.”
Across the four days the Premier League champions will be bringing the spirit of City Square to Albert Square with Fan Zone Danny.
A number of the Premier League’s partners will also be running exhibits for the thousands of fans who are expected to turn out.
Topps Merlin will hand supporters the chance to create a personalised Match Attax card of themselves, as well as giving out goodies from their official Barclays Premier League sticker and trading card collections.
There will also be the chance for fans to win tickets for Barclays Premier League matches and each day, music from DJs and freestyle football exhibitions will add to the party atmosphere!
