City Soundwave returns on Saturday

This weekend sees Round 4 of our City SoundWave competition so get to City Square early, bask in the sunshine and watch two great bands perform.
Before the Sunderland clash we have Rusty Shackle, a five piece from Wales, but don’t hold that against them as they are all life-long City fans! Through banjo, fiddle and acoustic guitars they create a rustic old time sound that conjures up imagery of Mississippi steam boats, seedy show girls and bar room brawls.
Following them we have Fake Empire with their repertoire of catchy songs that seemingly span generations by combining 50's twang, 60's soul, 70's groves, 80's classic guitar riffs, 90's Brit pop and modern lyrics. Perfect for some pre-match entertainment!
Each band will play two songs, and then next week we will put their performances up on our website for you to vote on.
The winner will join the brilliant Jeremiah Ferrari whose mix of reggae, roots and calypso was a huge hit in Round 3, as well as our previous winners from earlier in the season.
All the round winners will then fight it out in front of a panel of expert judges with the eventual City SoundWave champion playing the Key 103 Summerball!
